FIR against one thousand journalists : IFWJ shocked
The Working Journalists of India ( WJI ) and Indian Federation of Working Journalists ( IFWJ ) expressed shock that the Maharashtra police has filed FIRs against one thousand working journalists of Republic TV channel . This is worse than what had happened during the infamous Emergency of 1975 . Mr Narender Bhandari of WJI and Mr Parmanand Pandey of the IFWJ along with other prominent journalists asked the Maharashtra govt to immediately withdraw these FIRs against journalists as these amount to curbing the freedom of press as enshrined in Indian Constitution .
