IFWJ will be celebrating the 72nd foundation day 28th Oct 21 Indian federation of working journalist general secretary Mr Parmanand Pandey inform to all members of federation and all journalists that O n the coming 28 th of October, we will be celebrating the 72nd Foundation Day of the Indian Federation of Working Journalists (IFWJ). It was on this day that our great organisation came into existence in 1950 at Jantar Mantar of New Delhi. This was the first organisation of working journalists in the country. It was due to the inspiration and the motivation of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, who was also the first Information and Broadcasting Minister of Independent India, that the IFWJ was founded as it has been recalled in the famous books - ‘Journalism and Politics’ and ‘The Press’ – of celebrated journalist, Manikonda Chalapathi Rau (popularly known as the MC).
