  Peaceful polling concludes for byelections  in Assam, Meghalaya and Mizoram                                                               file photo Guwahati: The polling exercise for byelections in nine assembly constituencies Assam, Meghalaya, and Mizoram came to an end peacefully at 5 pm on Saturday. Five assembly constituencies in Assam witnessed nearly 70% polling, where Gossaigaon seat reported highest polling (76.71%) and Mariani recorded the lowest turnout (61.62 %) in the stipulated time. Thowra seat recorded 75.07 %, where Bhabanipur reported 74 % and  Tamulpur 62 % polling. RSS strongly condemns Islamist attacks on Hindu minorities in Bangladesh Guwahati: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in its Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal Baithak, held in Dharwad (Karnataka), expresses its deep anguish over the recent outburst of violence on Hindu families in Bangladesh and strongly condemns the continuing brutality on the Hindu minority community in the neighboring country. It reassures that RSS along with the entire Hindu society stands firmly by persecuted Hindu and Buddhist minorities there in this challenging time.
