अमेरिका में गंगा

अमेरिका में गंगा की खोज पुराणों में कहा है कि यदि सहस्त्रों योजन दूर से भी गंगा स्तुति की जाए तो उसका महात्म गंगा स्नान जैसा ही है । गंगा- भारत से लगभग 19 हजार किलोमीटर दूर, आज  मैंने एक नदी में गंगा-2 का जाप कर स्नान किया व खूब गोते लगाए । प्रसिद्ध कथाकार राही मासूम रज़ा, जो गंगा किनारे गाज़ीपुर के थे, को अपनी मां गंगा नदी से बहुत प्यार था । उन्होंने लिखा है कि वे गंगा के पुत्र है और यदि वे कहीं किसी दूसरे देश में गुजर जाएं और उनके पार्थिव शरीर को गाज़ीपुर लाना नामुमकिन हो तो उन्हें उस देश की किसी नदी के किनारे दफना कर उस नदी को कहना कि " यह गंगा का बेटा है ,इसका ख्याल रखना ।"   आज हमने भी अपनी गंगा मां को अमेरिका में ढूंढ ही लिया और अपने सभी प्रिय मित्रों, पारिवारिक जन व पितरो के नाम के खूब गोते लगाए ।     मुझे यहां एक सज्जन बता रहे थे कि भारतीय अमेरिकी हिन्दुओं ने एक यहां रह रहे एक साधू स्वामी जी को अमेरिका का पीठाधीश्वर शंकराचार्य भी घोषित कर दिया है । (वाशिंगटन 28 जुलाई 2019: राममोहन राय की कलम से साभार )
