 International award to north-eastern journalist Nava Thakuria Guwahati: The Geneva-based Press Emblem Campaign (PEC) rewards senior journalist Nava Thakuria, a resident of northeast India, for his relentless initiatives to safeguard the rights of media persons in the south Asian country and also defending the press freedom in the region with an exemplary commitment. The Assam-based working journalist has been awarded on 30 November 2021 remotely as it was difficult for him to reach Geneva because of the Covid-19 restrictions. “It is the first time that the PEC rewards a journalist from India, the second most populous country of the world. India has a strong democracy and a vibrant press. Last year however, a record number of 15 journalists were killed in India and six this year. दहशत की दिल्ली : आखिर अराजकता के लिए कौन जिम्मेदार ?

मुबाहिसा : राजेन्द्र मौर्य               आ ज रात दिल्ली से कानपुर के लिए ट्रेन से सफर शुरू किया तो दो पुलिसकर्मियों ने नई दिल्ली रेलवे स्टेशन पर ही सभी यात्रियों को अलर्ट करते हुए ट्रेन की खिड़की बंद करा दी। पूछने पर पुलिसकर्मियों का कहना था कि दिल्ली का माहौल खराब है, उसकी प्रतिक्रिया में कहीं भी कुछ हो सकता है। यह भले ही इन पुलिसकर्मियों द्वारा यात्रियों को अलर्ट करने की कोशिश थी, लेकिन इसका असर बहुत ही निंदनीय हुआ। यात्रियों ने बिना कुछ सोचे समझे एक वर्ग को जिस तरह से कोसना शुरू किया, उससे मैं अंदर तक हिल गया। दुखी हूं कि हम भारत वासी किस कदर सियासत की साजिश से इंसानियत के दुश्मन बनकर आदमखोर जानवरों की मानिंद सोचने लगे हैं। हम कैसा देश बना रहे हैं, जिसमें राष्ट्रभक्ति के नाम पर   प्रेम और सद्भाव का  कत्ल करने वाला "मानव हथियार" बनाए जा रहे  हैं। हम  बात करते हैं, अमेरिका जैसी महान महाशक्ति बनने की और हमारी सोच व समझ पाकिस्तान जैसे निम्न स्तर के देश के नागरिकों से भी कहीं गई गुजरी हो गई है ? ...
